My game at the 2016 Naval Wargames Weekend is going to be the battle of the River Plate, using 1/600 scale models and using the same ground scale as model scale. I scratch built a model of Exeter some years ago along wit an Airfix Graf Spee, so now I'm doing Ajax, Achilles and Cumberland. they are renovations of old models that I've had for some time, so they are a bit rough and ready - they certainly won't be winning any prizes - but they will be fine for what I have in mind.
My other main project is WW2 eastern front skirmishing in 15mm. I've always liked the idea of skirmishes set in a snowy terrain, and I decided now was the time to take the plunge. The first few German models are nearing completion.

I thought those tanks were 28mm when I first saw them.

15mm skirmish is definitely the way to go (says he who has tried to do it in 28mm). Which rules will you be using?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the battle report for the 1/600 scale ships. I always thought it would be interesting to try, but never had the room. The armor looks great, although those Germans might need some heavier coats for snowy terrain. 8^)
