Kittens!

Maisie had her kittens last night. One "maisie look-alike", two dark torties and a black and white. Laura is convinced the b&w is a boy, the other three are girls. Mother and babies doing well :)

Naval Wargames Weekend #2

Its now official, having confirmed with the museum - the second Naval Wargames Weekend will be held at the Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower in Gosport, Hampshire on June 2/3rd. Last year's event went well, but this year the museum has tackled the biggest "issue" of the event, which was the darkness of the venue (the main magazine - it was dark, but had a terrific ambience!), so this year we will be in the Board Room and the Conference Room, both of which are large and light, so we'll be able to see the games better :)

The emphasis of the event is naval gaming, getting naval gamers together for a chat and a laugh, and having fun. Space is available in the grounds for tents if anyone wants to stay overnight - good for those coming a long way. There were no trade stands last year as the focus was on the games. This year there may be a trade presence - still to be confirmed.

I'll post more details here as and when things firm up. The "call for games" went out on Monday and we've had some responses already. If you'd like to put on a game, or simply want more information on the event or the venue please drop me a line :)

Tau!

Philip's ongoing interest in Warhammer 40K is rubbing off on his poor old father. I've had a soft spot for the Tau since seeing the launch of the range and the new Devilfish at Games Day many years ago, and now I have an excuse to indulge this particular interest. The Tau are going to be "daddy's army". I picked up a squad of Fire Warriors on Ebay last week - 12 plus ten Kroot for less than a tenner, and today the Fire Warriors are finished.
